Located on the northwestern end of the St. Helena appellation, Bale Mill Creek Vineyard sits on well-drained alluvial soil with plantings dating back to 1990. With strong morning and afternoon sun, the vineyard receives afternoon breeze from the Pacific Ocean that dips over Spring Mountain—creating warm daytime temperatures and cool evenings. The result is a balanced vineyard that produces refined, but distinct wines. The land is farmed by Jim Gamble, whose farming practices go beyond organic and strive to reinvest in the land and the systems that support it.
